Employee/Staff Wellness (Health Care Providers and Support Staff)

In November 2023, the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) launched Project ECHO®-Leading Wellness (ECHO-LW), a weekly initiative (eight sessions total), featuring curriculum focused on advances in organizational well-being, utilizing a virtual community of practice (CoP) model to foster interprofessional knowledge sharing. ECHO-LW is a free virtual education and capacity building program that aims to train and support wellness leads across Ontario so they can better plan, implement, and evaluate initiatives to support the wellness of HCPs at their organization.

This session/poster will describe ECHO-LW’s needs assessment, which informed program content, as well as the curriculum which was developed and delivered. Feedback from participants outlining how the program impacted their organization will be discussed.

Leaders and Workplace Wellness

Exploring the unique and innovative psychoeducational session structure of the weekly online Coping Club group. With a focus on frontline healthcare workers specifically, this exclusive psychoeducational group encourages skill development, reflective practice and the development of a safe place for healthcare/ frontline workers to share and feel heard. Throughout a 16-week program, each week a new topic is explored. Participants are encouraged to conceptualize these topics through the lens of their own lived experiences and daily stressors.

With an emphasis on skill development, building resilience and shared understanding, our poster strives to encourage both participants and group facilitators alike to consider and explore further groups focused on managing occupational stress/ caring for healthcare workers.

With a specialized approach, and appreciation for the unique concerns that create barriers for healthcare workers accessing services, our poster strives to highlight the importance of considering these unique factors when delivering care to healthcare workers.

Employee/Staff Wellness (Health Care Providers and Support Staff)

Introduced in April 2018, The National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety has guided Wellness at Scarborough Health Network (SHN). Post-pandemic, our wellness strategy and program have focused on bridging physical health and psychological health and safety. The National Standard provides a framework for organizations to promote mental health and prevent psychological harm at work. It includes guidelines, tools, and resources to help organizations develop and continuously improve psychologically healthy and safe workplaces. It became clear that we need to build upon the growing organizational wellness culture. We are embarking on a journey to learn more about how SHN’s People Services support the psychosocial risk factors that matter most to our staff in their daily work life. The goal of this work is to reconnect staff in meaningful ways by accommodating schedules with shared resources and activities that provide relevant learning moments within the convenience of their unit.
